Aligning teeth and straightening smiles is easier, and less obvious than ever.

If you missed out on braces when you were younger, or notice spaces between teeth, crowding, or crooked, overlapping teeth orthodontics can help you improve the health and appearance of your smile.

If you hate the idea of metal brackets and wires, Invisalign could be a good option for you. With Invisalign, Dr. Whitmore and our team use proprietary imaging technology to diagnose your need for care. Through the same imaging system, they will show you how your teeth can be aligned overtime using the Invisalign system.

Invisalign uses clear, plastic aligners to reposition your teeth. In some cases, Invisalign straightens teeth faster than traditional braces, and often costs less. Furthermore, Invisalign is a tried and true approach with more than 15 years of successful orthodontic treatment in the U.S. and throughout Europe.

Dr. Whitmore is a certified Invisalign provider. To discuss your options for care, please call 877-77-WHITMORE (877-779-4486) to schedule an Invisalign consultation.

What is Invisalign?

Invisalign gradually straightens your teeth using clear, removable plastic aligners. Since the aligners are clear, no one will notice you are wearing them, which eliminates the social stigma wearing metal braces might give. And, although you need to wear the aligners as much as possible to gain the most benefit from them, they can be removed for short periods of time.

Benefits of Invisalign

Invisalign has several advantages over traditional metal braces, including:

  • Nearly invisible – Clear aligners are nearly undetectable, which makes Invisalign a great option for adults who do not want to have to wear traditional metal braces
  • Removable – Invisalign aligners may be removed when you eat, so you can still enjoy all your favorite foods, as well as remove them to brush and floss as you normally do
  • Comfort – The aligners are plastic and have smooth edges, which is much more comfortable than metal brackets and wires that come into contact with your teeth and gums
  • Customized – Dr. Whitmore will take an impression of your teeth and bite to create a customized set of aligners. This will ensure your Invisalign treatment is tailored exactly to your unique needs
  • Fewer visits – You will come to our Plano office to change aligners every four to six weeks, which will greatly cut down the number of visits you might need if you were wearing traditional braces

Who can Wear Invisalign

Invisalign is most effective when treating minor to moderate spacing, crowding, and rotational issues. Patients with major orthodontic and bite problems may need to consider traditional braces to correct their teeth.
