Hello,
I have a question about sensitivity with veneers. Will Lumineers help if I have really sensitive teeth? I have a lot of trouble with eating and drinking things that vary in temperature. I am to the point where I’m desperate to get my teeth back to normal. I have done my best to improve my health but my teeth are holding me back. I think this is due to the high levels of Ph in my mouth and my sensitive teeth. So do you think Lumineers will help me?

Daniel,
The good news is that your sensitivity can be treated with any brand of porcelain veneers, including Lumineers. The first thing you need to do is to consult with an expert cosmetic dentist. Particularly one that has dealt with similar tooth sensitivity cases. It is important to establish the source of the issues you have outlined so they can be treated appropriately.
It is not unheard of for a patient to require a root canal treatment to ensure that there is no longer any pain after the porcelain veneers are applied. Recent advances have made placing root canals on front teeth easier and an excellent cosmetic dentist will know how to avoid the risk for future fracture. It is possible to have a beautiful smile that is no longer causing you discomfort from sensitivity.
There are many reasons you may be experiencing tooth sensitivity. Leaky or poorly sealed fillings can be a cause. They may need to be removed and sealed appropriately. Or your tooth root next to your gum may be giving you problems when air or pressure touch it. Maybe your bite is a off and causes all your teeth stress. Tooth decay may be another reason for sensitivity. Or maybe you grind your teeth when you are asleep making them very tender. There are other causes too, but again it will be imperative to pinpoint the particular issue or issues causing your troubles. It is recommended that the sensitivity is addressed prior to your smile makeover.
I hope this post was helpful to you.
